Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is caused by plaque attacking the gums and bones of your mouth. It is very common and in extreme cases it can cause gum abscesses. Although regular brushing and flossing removes decay causing plaque, the only way to properly prevent gum disease is to have the tartar (calculus) regularly removed by a Dental Hygienist.
